I've attempted to address some commonly asked questions regarding MRCS Part A. This is based on my experience during the January 2023 exam.

4-6 months is adequate (even less if you can commit to full-day study) for a strong preparation. Book the exam first to maintain motivation for your study plan

Absolutely, you can attempt part A during your internship (with your provisional certificate). With a 6 months window & daily at least 3 hours of study, (& a lot more just before the exam) you can prepare effectively.ย
Priorotize your internship, extend preparation time if necessary.

Coaching isn't essential for Part A. If you have ample time, self-study is sufficient.

Of course it is better if you can discuss the topics with someone, It will be immensely helpful during Recalls solving.ย
If you donโt have a partner then it's okay too. I personally studied solo & got support from telegram groups.

Simply 3:
1. eMRCS
2. Fawzia sheets
3. Last 5 years Recalls
If you find eMRCS challenging, then go through Reda Notes first.

I passed without studying them in a very short time, so they're not necessary for passing.ย
However, you can read them for additional knowledge.

# Start with eMRCS system wise (anything you like- anatomy, physio, surgery). I always suggest to get online subscription because that is always updating- adding new questions/detailed topics. Here, if you are not comfortable with eMRCS, go through Reda notes first & then try solving questions from eMRCS. But Always remember that online eMRCS keeps updating, so Reda is definitely not enough.
# Once done with eMRCS, solve Fawzia questions
# Start solving Recalls. Initially you'll feel helpless & hopeless, but believe me it gets easier subsequently. Follow different telegram groups for help.
# Now when you have finished all 3 materials, it's time to start revising. Divide your days into hours & study 3 resources everyday. Everything will seem new, but donโt worry, during this 2nd read, you will know what's important, where your weakness is etc.ย
Try to revise at least 3-4 times before your exam.ย
Hope this helps.
