52. Prurigo Simplex
Protocols
Clinical Features:
- Prurigo simplex presents as
- symmetrically distributed,
- small, intensely itchy,
- dome-shaped bumps.
- Sometimes there are tiny blisters.
Site:
They are most numerous on the outer aspects of the limbs and buttocks,
but may occur anywhere on head and neck, trunk and limbs.
Prurigo may affect children and adults.
Investigation :
1)Blood count
2)Renal function
3)Liver function
4)Immunoglobulins
5)Protein electrophoresis
6)Skin antibodies
7)Thyroid function tests
🎴Rx:
1.Tab.Xyril ([post id="534" title="Hydroxyzine"]) (10mg)
1+0+1.........10 days
For child: syrup.Xyril

kg = 2/3 tsf >11kg
= 1 tsf |
2.Facid BT([post id="540" title="details"]) ...2 times daily .....6-8 weeks
3.Cefotil plus ([post id="404" title="Cefuroxime"])
1+0+1.........7 days
For Child: syrup. Furotil (125mg/5ml) 20mg/kg/day

4. For adult: Tab.Amilin([post id="477" title="Amitriptyline"])(10mg) 0+0+1......2 month
